Nice to meet you, I'm Francesca!
I was born in Greenwich, CT and began coding in 7th grade. Since then, I've been fine tuning my skills in Computer Science at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA. I will be finishing up my Computer Science degree with a security emphasis next June 2020.
I believe that becoming a great programmer involves more than the necessary, non-negotiable knowledge regarding the inner workings of computers. In order to write efficient, clear and concise code, I believe that one must have proficiency in critical thinking and logic. I pursue logical thinking outside of coding through training in philosophy and frequently participating in casual discussions/arguments about our knowledge of reality. In my opinion, programmers ought to be able to communicate their ideas in a manner that is just as efficient as their code. Philosophy helps me practice logial communication and I aim to continue training my brain through cross-disciplinary self-study.
Another part of my self-development includes creative passions. I bring along my film camera wherever I go because photography opens my mind to new ways of viewing the world. Black and white film photography is unforgiving--you must expose photos correctly in order to have enough detail in your negatives. The technique required during film shooting and development is relevant to programming since coding requires that you execute your ideas creatively, and with precise knowledge of syntax.
Thanks for visiting my website! It's still a work in progress but I hope that you find something interesting here--take a look at my gallery of photos, my blog posts or my website for a community-based engineering project accessible in the bottom right corner of the home page.
