Week 2 Progress Reports

Summary:

We were assigned our groups this week so we were excited to finally begin the project. We began by making plans for meeting times, familiarizing ourselves with each other's programming skills. We also began making plans for how we would like to build the app and how to host the app. Reflecting on this week, I think that we have made some great steps towards addressing concerns within our project as well as developed new ideas for how we will continue chipping away at this app. We could have done a better job communicating with each other in the beginning of last week but, as the team gets to know each other, I think that these issues will fall to our routinely scheduled Skype video sessions.

Update: 4/16/19

I took a team skills assessment and recieved the following results: Evaluator--10, Ideas Person--5, Leader--8, Compromiser--8, Summariser--6, Recorder--5, Encourager--4

Update: 4/14/19

We drafted our team contract and all added to a Google Document in order to hold each other accountable for our individual and group goals. I think this is an important step for our team because it will tease out any potential inconsistencies in expectations and allow us to work more efficiently

Update: 4/9/19

Our groups were assigned and we familiarized ourselves with existing information regarding the project. We met with the head of the Center for Sustainability and discussed budget, specifics about changes to the existing framework and set up a tentative launch date. Our goal in the coming days is to create a team contract as well as decide what we are going to write the app with (such as React Native) and how/where we are going to most effectively host information.
